Well, May is here and it seems like we have stuff going on every single week! I just wanted to give everyone a little run down of what we will be doing the next couple weeks.
Writing - We will be spending about two weeks in writing workshop focusing on poetry....encourage your child to share some of their poetry with you from time to time. You will no doubt be very impressed!
Reading - Students will be participating in a lit. study (we call it a book club). They will be choosing their books this Wednesday!
Word Study - Two more weeks of Latin/Greek roots and then we will be done for the year!
Math - Still focusing on algebra, measurement, and decimals.
Indiana History - We will be beginning our Indy 500 unit!
Science - They will be finishing their unit with Mrs. Meyer next week.
Report Cards - I am going to attempt to have most assessments done and report cards printed by my last day (May 18th).
Young Author's Day - We will be sharing our books with each other and others. We spent a week working on the books in class. The students are now responsible for finishing them on their own time. Students can dress cozy and bring something cozy to read with all day. We will also enjoy a pizza party for lunch to celebrate our year! You can purchase autographed books until May 6th (hard back books are $18 and paper back are $8). If you need another order form, let me know!
Programs - We have several programs and things going on during our school day. Please check out the list of events to the right. If you have any questions, please call!
Indy Trip - Everyone is paid up and ready to go! Chaperones have been notified. If you have any questions please let me know.
