The Countdown Has Begun...

The kids inform me everyday of how many days of school we have left. They are definitely excited, as am I. Just a reminder that Monday is Memorial Day so school will not be in session. So on top of the school year winding down....next week is a short week filled with fun events!

On Wednesday we have Field Day. Be sure to dress your child appropriately and have them wear tennis shoes. They are looking for volunteers if anyone is available to help for even just part of the day.

Next Thursday and Friday are the Talent Shows. They will be held in the gym at 9:45 am.

Next Thursday and Friday we will also be doing a little chemistry experiment. We will be attempting to have each student make some homemade ice cream. It should be a lot of fun (and probably a little messy too)! A letter is going home tomorrow (Friday) with a list of items that will be needed. If you are able to provide any of these items it would be much appreciated!

We have had a guest reader all year, Mrs. Mann. Today was her last day. She has read the classic, The Secret Garden, the class and they have been drawn into that story all year. We will celebrating this book by watching the movie in the afternoon on Monday, June 6th. Students are free to bring a snack and drink to enjoy with the movie.

Then on Tuesday, June 7th we will be working hard on cleaning up the classroom and packing up our belongings! Mrs. Kimbel is collecting any gym shoes your students have outgrown. We will be getting new science and math textbooks next year, so students will be allowed to take home the science and math textbooks we have used this year.

If you have any questions about the end of the year, please let me know! It is rapidly approaching!
